Hi,

I'm starting to research relocating to the bay area for an entry level business development position in high tech/startups.
I have 1-2 years experience

Can anyone advise regarding if this is realistic ? How do I know if this is an option when searching for a position? How does h1 visa sponsorship work ?

Thanks !

Just check glassdoor and linkedin jobs, you should find plenty if you search for “sales/business development representative”. Its going to be peanuts though for the bay starting out, should get about $80k-$90k OTE or so before you get promoted to something that pays better

Are you also in bizdev? What would you say is the next step up as I already have similar BD experience in a startup which has also included many other aspects such as building marketing campaigns and research

Im not in biz dev but those numbers are typical. Unfortunately if you move to another company its very hard to make a move thats not lateral, if you want to get to the AE level this is usually done with a promotio

usually a job will post about relocation within the app somewhere or job posting. I moved southern to northern california once and got 15k after taxes to help move. Ymmv
