I have about a little bit more than 4 YOE, and Dropbox is my third company, and on average I start interview at 1 year mark, and jump every 1.5 year. My first company is shit, second company has tons of legacy code and reorg, Dropbox has no future, sigh
Do manager and recruiter care if the person jump too often? And is 1.5 year too short?
Thanks
TC 280, hesitating whether I should make a jump to Google or Meta both at 375k in the first year, then drop to 305k second year
I definitely will jump again if I join Google/Meta right now since I got down leveled, and will look senior role again next year since promotion is nearly impossible within 1 year, but worry jumping again will hurt me next year
Year 1: 100k
Year 2: 200k
Year 3: 300k
Year 4: 380k if I jump to Google/Meta
Year 5: 550k if I jump out of Google/Meta after a year
