With MSFT for 6 years, 8years total exp. LVL62 currently (yes, I know, I suck, but ... reorgs ... ). Google came back with: 140 base 15% bonus 350k rsu 20k sign on My MSFT base is higher now .... wtf ??? I suck at system design, so that round prob didn't go over so well, if it matters.
But the total comp is way higher.
Great offer, above average, especially for Seattle. In MTV the average was 145/250/no sign on.
lool for 8 years exp, u sure abt that ? Friend got 154k 350rsu with 5yr exp no competitive offers
L4 across US ranges from 200 to 350 (but only <10% make more than 300 in fact) with a median of 250. You got higher total comp than half of L4 at Google. Your friend got a bit more and got to 60 percentile. Consider cost of living in CA and I guess you still take home more.
6 years sde2 is ok I think? lots of people in this band.
Google. No brainer. Money is not everything. Working at a dying company is worse.
which one is dying? serious question.
Indeed. Microsoft is awesome and cares about employees times better than say super growing Amazon.
I have similar experience and got a E4 google offer In last April. It’s 165 Base, 500K RSU, 50k sign on, I didn’t accept it though since I got a better offer at LinkedIn.
Why is base so low at Google? TC is top market but base matters in mortgage affordability. Your RSU won't count.
350K in RSUs is more than you'll get in 15 years as a L62.
Is this your first day on blind ? This is not about being rational / fair / analytical. Its about being as greedy as possible and never quite happy with anything you get.
Why is your name “gay4pay”?
Are u on H1? , by the look of things any offer wouldn't matter
no h1
If it didn't go well how did they make an offer?
I didnt say it didn't went well, that is implied. I kinda said it didn't go excellent, like the coding rounds did.
