Have a verbal software engineer offer at Plaid. I expect the offer to be pretty compelling considering they know I have one other offer. TC from the other offer is in and around $340k* *TC is pretty hard to calculate from a startup. The existing offer is based on most optimistic outcomes in the next 4 years. I’ve yet to negotiate. With that said, what’s it like to work at Plaid? Is the work life balance any good? I saw people rolling into the office at 11am. —— Current TC $385k. 5 YOE
Hey I was invited to an onsite with plaid, and I was wondering if you had any insights on the interview process? As well as if they do offer, and the amount for relocation, signing, and stock? And Base salary if possible? I am trying to set expectations since I haven't found any concrete info yet.
I find h1bdata.info good for understanding what they pay for salary and TripleByte salary as well.
There are a couple of good threads that answer eng-culture and work-life balance questions if you just search for Plaid. Not sure when you came on-site, but we moved into a new office this week so schedules are a bit off. Eng is 9-10 until 6-7p most of the time. WL balance is overall good, but it's also not 40 hours a week like Google/Facebook/etc. (we aren't an engineer's retirement home yet). I'd give Plaid an A overall (culture, business, engineering, opportunity, etc.) but I am biased. Honest recommendation is to ask to spend some time with ICs as part of the sell. It's a fantastic group.
Did you end up picking plaid?
Yeah did you
Maybe I ask how much Plaid pays for senior engineer?
Can I get a referral to plaid
Did you end up joining? Visa acquired Plaid and rumor is that senior engineers made 5M equity over 4 years
What price is the business currently valuing its shares at? I read an article saying that former employees have been fielding offers from family offices up to $1,200/share. Seems like a very big number
That would put plaid at a 25b evaluation. There are rumours it’ll be 11 figures, yes, but I haven’t heard anything about 25b. Maybe 15b? Either way plaid is a rocketship
$582 a share. $13.5 bn valuation
@op what was the final offer and level?
