Do you want to go into adtech or retail tech? One opens gateway to Google, other to Amazon...
Thanks for the insight. I've been hearing sinking ship comments about oath. Just wanted to know if inbox commerce/answers team is stable
Very low salary for Bay Area. You can do $150 easy in Seattle. You will struggle to live with that salary in the Bay Area.
With 1.3 years of experience? I am pretty sure that you cannot get 150k anywhere with that limited an experience.
I must have missed the 1.3 years. But I was hiring people with about 5 years of experience at $140k at my last company. That was a small company of about 600 people
Do you mind sharing your interview experience with Oath inbox commerce team?I have an onsite scheduled with them
Inbox commerce is a key initiative for the comms org. Don’t know about the tech stack or engineering work but it should be interesting/challenging. Company prospects are meh. But from personal experience the yahoo brand definitely opens doors in Silicon Valley. Not sure if oath will be as valuable going forward. No clue about sams club tech.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Does sams/Walmart offer some kind of stock?
Yes, mentioned in the description.
Yahoo answers does not have good long term prospects but you can always move laterally at Oath. 135k is not terrible for Bay Area but not great either. If you are single, you’ll be comfortable. Yahoo still has better culture than Walmart.
thanks for the insights :)
Also 135 is good for 1.5 yoe
We
Sure, could you give some details you're aware of about the work with Sam's club tech?
Hi ppl, just had an update from the recruiter that there will be no RSUs instead there's an equity of 20k. How's equity different from RSUs? Both of these are vested over four years. Let me know your thoughts. TIA.
Equity includes voting rights once they’re granted and are a public security (transferable) whereas RSU are not actually stock, just a promise of stock with no voting rights, non transferable. Nobody vests equity at multi billion dollar companies...
A bit low for the Bay Area, I think 120k in Texas is better.
You think? I would say you need to make 250k In California to match that salary in Texas
