SoFi - Manager, Strategic Partnerships New team and get to touch any product vertical which makes it interesting. Lots of opportunity to learn many different financial products. TC: $209k at current stock price Carta - Senior Associate, International Strategy This team spends 3-4 months in Singapore and India per year. India and Asia have been part of my career roadmap since 2017. I wrote my undergrad thesis on the Indian Millennial consumer and have been bullish on the country and region since. I’ve known I’ve wanted to spend time in those markets and getting to do it this early in my career seems like a dream. TC: around the same as SoFi Context: I’m currently a senior associate at Better with primarily partnerships/BD experience. I do have a natural skill in modeling, analysis, and deck building, but I don’t have the core consulting/banking background that the team at Carta has. The team is all ex-MBB and ibankers. It will be a huge change in my work, but I am confident I can assume the challenge. The role at Sofi is also higher than Carta (Manager vs. Sr. Associate) I also just bought a house and do long distance with my gf. I have renters for the house and my gf would be comfortable for a few months of the year, but my life would be quite different if I was in Asia a few months of the year. Age: 26 Current TC: ~$160k Thank you Blind community. This is my first post and I’m very torn between these two options. #tech #finance #international #global #offers
Curious. Background?
Analyst at Jet.com/Walmart ecommerce. And have been at Better in partnerships and acquisitions teams for last 2.25 years
I’m curious why the people voting for SoFi think that’s the better option? Would love to hear your qualitative feedback.
public company
You sound pretty excited about Carta. Seems pretty obvious the clear winner!
Carta sounds more aligned with your long term interests. If TC about the same go for Carta.
Sofi for sure. Bigger name so you’ll have lots of exit opportunities to do whatever you want in finance
Voting SoFi. RSUs > options in current rate environment. Also manager-level strategic partnerships at SoFi should set you up for a big role upgrade next jump. But I'm biased =)
Haha but pretty objective points. What team are you on?
Thank you all for your comments. I’ve decided to go with SoFi! Did not vibe with the team at carta fully and seems like I’d be a guinea pig in their international bet
How are you liking it there?
