Got an offer for an L6 at Uber SFO as follows: Base - 230K Target Cash Bonus - 41K Equity Grant - 900K Refresher - 175K Is this a good offer to move to west coast? Already earning 200K at East Coast non-metro.
Yoe?
i have 17+ YOE. Also, manage multiple teams.
Is this for an IC role at uber?
It's not bad. Your equity will ramp
can you explain what it means by "equity will ramp?"
If you perform well, your equity refreshes will be greater than initial grant
negotiate higher on the stock. Otherwise a good offer. What stock value is 900K being calculated on?
i am earning 200K base here in non-metro area on east coast. And getting offers of same ballpark in this area. Only stock is different so was hoping to achieve a higher base for SFO considering the abnormally high rent/to-own costs (approx 3x higher). What would be an ideal comp for my case? Also, i am quoted $33.
Base has the lowest room for Negotiation generally. Given you're already at 230 very unlikely base will change much. $33 is good.
you might also want to look into Uber NYC if you want to be on the east coast?
thanks. No matching roles.
Is equity grant calculated on 409a or preferred price ?
409a
It's decent/good offer take it. U r actual RSU is over 1.4 millio based on preferred price. Good one.
How much is each share
Base is amazing. You can negotiate a bit on the equity. Be sure to ask them what valuation they are giving you the rsus at

looks like low equity for that level. IIUC this is top <3% of engineering at Uber
i didnt follow " IIUC this is top <3% of engineering at Uber" What should be a good equity offer? Also do you think there is room to negotiate the cash as the cost of living is going to go up atleast 2.5-3x than the east coast.
probably not. that's enough cash in the bay for general expenses. I'm saying this is a very high level, only the top 3% at Uber is this level. (if I understand correctly)
