working at Salesforce Einstein and just had my annual review. I am one year out of school working on the shiniest tech in the market — pytorch, gpu, cloud AI and large scale data etc - 130k base - 5% bonus - 200k worth of RSUs 4yr cliff Am I underpaid? Not sure if I should switch considering my peers at G/F (exceeding expectations) are paid at least 30% more?
Lol. Can your be more specific about your projects related to "GPU" and "cloud AI"?
Pls look up Einstein — I work in Socher’s org.
bachelors/masters/PhD ?
Wtf is a 4 year cliff
You *can* get more competitive offers at F/G, but Socher’s org is a really great team, particularly to work on early career and right now given industry interests. My two cents? Don’t worry too much about the pay for now, do great work, learn as much as you can, and then when you’re ready you can kill interviews at some of the big companies that’ll get you paid, if that’s what you’d like.
Which team under Einstein?
I’ve found 90% of ML work to be boring as fuck. Are you contributing back to open source libraries like Spark ML? Or are you just setting up clusters and writing up automation scripts all day to debug failed training jobs? I would maximize for learning at this age instead of pay. You have a 20yr career in front of you. Plenty of time to make money. Optimize for learning/specialization
Thanks for the rant— could you unpack the learning/specialization?
I have a GPU cluster platform offer at Walmart, is it really a good place to be in or should I stick to the good old cloud, my fear being over ambitous managers in a fairly new tech.
The numbers seem wrong. Sounds like einstein AI but no one at salesforce gets 5% bonus. Even AMTS gets 10%. This person’s company says NEW. This sounds like a fake post since we all get marked as Salesforce. The equity numbers sound too high for an AMTS , too.
Agreed, though Socher’s org is fairly high profile and I’d hope we finally offered some realistic fucking equity packages to hire decent people
I just don’t think this package being described here makes any sense. A lot of people in socher’s org are phds and they would not be AMTS, and 130k is pretty close to AMTS base pay. And like I said no one makes 5% bonus. You would need to have a 50% personal bonus multiplier for an amts to get 5% and I just have never heard of that ever. Also the personal bonus multipliers aren’t even announced yet so I call bullshit on this post.
RSU grant seems fantastic. Mine started at 74k as MTS.
Really only $75k for MTS?
Indeed, they’re not known for giving out much equity, it’s not too much more for PMTS
There is only one kid who has a bachelors that works in Socher’s org. This guy was at AWS for a year and has only been at SFDC for four months in research. This is a great package for someone one year out of college. Maybe he is too dumb to know that AMTS gets 10% bonus and really I don’t think he has done much in four months. Kids these days are so entitled.

You are 1 year out of school... My advice...work don't concentrate on money... Get projects under ur belt and then switch if u feel like it... Prove ur worth rather then looking at others plate
