148k base/$15k signing/$108k RSU over 4 years 3 yoe Title: Systems software engineer IC2 Location: Santa Clara, CA I'm graduating in May with my Master's in computer engineering, with a focus on computer security. Prior to graduate school, I worked full time as an embedded software engineer for 2 years. I've also done 1 year total of various internships in the field. I interned at Nvidia this past summer. I'm inclined to negotiate for a higher base salary, and possibly for a change of title to IC3.
I’d go all out for IC3
You can definitely try to negotiate, but it is a pretty good offer. Even base is pretty high already
Solid offer by NVIDIA standards, though sign on could be higher.
I joined about 1.5yrs ago @ IC3. After negotiation, base was 145k, bonus $30k, $30k stock. Your offer looks great for IC2!
Is the bonus still sign on + anniversary or just sign on now?
Not bad, Jesus they are paying near interns more than real employees now
Yep, someone recently just got an offer that is 20% better than what I get after a couple of years here. I don't understand the logic
Sorry, your offer sucks compared to other returning interns (and I know of quite a few). Don't listen to these people, push for IC3. They'll offer 160k base and about 900-1000 NSUs. They will NOT change sign on, so forget that. Oh and then they'll stop negotiating after 160k if you don't have a competing offer. You're welcome
That’s great, I joined at ic3 last year, and no sign on, 1/3 of RSUs you mentioned. Just the base was equal. I should have gone with the other offer from a lesser company. 😄
Lol what shit. 1000NSU at IC2-IC3 . No fucking way. That's basically around 180K over 4 years. Sorry bud not happening at that level
@OP Congratulations buddy, the offer is pretty nice. How was your experience of interning at NVIDIA ?
Good start I would think, since your YOE is relatively low. I say do it.
