Ever not wear a tie to an interview?

Is not wearing a tie for say an interview with a consulting firm like Accenture or EY or Deloitte acceptable?

Depends on the TC level Nobody cares under mgr level for most companies. Client facing roles are different as well. They’ll rate you on how you’ll look in front of clients

I’ve never worn a tie to an interview. Come to think of it, I don’t even own one.

That’s why you don’t work for Accenture

I wouldn’t work for any company whose culture is stuck in 1955.

If you are willing to deal with customers and putting a monkey suit and noose every day, then yeah I guess it matters. Totally depends on the role. If you are interviewing with a company whose people wear formal clothing when doing their jobs then you should follow that practice for the interview. Ask the recruiter.
