Expected Tc for SDE2 at amazon in bay area
recruiter is asking me about the expected salary requiremt. I have replied with 270k. Should i have asked for more? YOE: 3 years + Masters in Cs (if it countsđ€) L3 SWE at Google.
You could probably go to 300k, I got 200k in the Bay for sde 1 and I heard top of the band is 220 so 270is pretty solid in the middle of the band. Btw why leave G for Amazon??

I think my team at google isnât that great. I think the team at Amazon is much better.
Do a 20% project and-change teams at Google. If you ar going to leave Goolgle, leave it for FB, Pinteest, Uber companies which have similar to Google culture not frugal culture of Amazon. Or better move to hedge funds.
If it's just for a level higher. Please don't. Consider other companies. And m sure you can find much better teams internally.

Thatâs not top of the band for sde2 bay area, but then again at 3yoe would it really make sense for you to be top of the band SDE2...? Itâs a genuine question you have to ask yourself
+ Masters in computer science
If your Msc is 100% related to what you are going to work on, maybe that would increase the chances of it making sense.
