A “friend” is expecting a google offer for a network engineer role in Denver, but doesn’t want to relocate from Seattle. He initially did agree for the move but due to personal reasons can’t anymore. Would this impact his hiring chances for future roles in Google if he informs the recruiter now of not moving ? Per recruiter he received awesome feedback during phone screens/onsite and even had an informal chat with hiring manager. Thoughts how this should be handled? TC 210k
There's a cost of living difference between those two areas. I would expect them to drop the payscale if they stay in Denver.
He should inform the recruiter ASAP in case it is still salvageable and can find another match in Seattle.
The goal is to hire your friend. So, talking to the recruiter is more than okay. These things happen more often than not.
Your “friend” should be talking to the “recruiter”
Congratulations to you and don’t forget to pass on to your “friend”
I also think it’s the best to let them know. Google wants to hire good people and if timing doesn’t add up it won’t impact their interest in the future.
No
You’re such a coward. Just post for your own god damn self!
Ask for a Seattle position, explain things have changed. A candidate with an offer is worth a lot.
Did you just refer to yourself as your "friend" 🧐
Exactly 😦
No. I am his friend! I told you people won’t believe are doing the needful for your friend.
