I currently have an SDE II, Machine Learning offer from Expedia and an SDE I offer from Amazon. I am a new grad with 2 YEO. Both in Seattle. Amazon TC: 112(base),38(SO first year), 26(bonus second year), 85k stock over 4 years. Expedia TC: no info yet but as per market standards should be around 140-160k. I am considering Expedia mainly because of it being a senior position, with machine learning work as opposed to SDE I with just software (although in an AI team). Given the unpopular opinion of Expedia not being a great teach firm and slower growth, is it worth considering Expedia over Amazon. I am an international student(if this matters somehow).
Does job title matter to you?
Not totally sure. It doesn't matter to me but I'll be applying for a visa and was thinking if it would be a problem if the title(or the generic description that the lawyers use) is different from the program that I have done(MS in Analytics), although it was CS courses throughout. At Expedia, the work is more around NLP and application development. While for Amazon its about developing frameworks for ML model deployment and maintenance.
Don't you think you are worrying a bit too much. Let the immigration lawyers to figure that one out. They are the professional. Just pick the place where you want to be.
take amazon
I would say negotiate and take amazon
If you want to do ML as a career I'd really consider the Expedia offer. Amazon has a lot of benefits vs Expedia, but it's harder to move subject of focus than it is to move to a higher tier company.

What is the appeal to NVIDIA?
I heard that there is 35k stock cap on Expedia but not sure whether that's true or not, please share once you have the Expedia offer. Below is an SDE1 Offer from Amzon that my frnd recently got, your RSUs looks very low base 129k signon -$39k second signon - $29k RSU - 62
Is that SDE1 split for Expedia or Amazon ?
Sorry Amazon
