Update from original post: Recruiter confirmed alive via his recruiting coordinator. Called and emailed. Most recently to let him know I have a couple of offers from other companies (actually true)...no response. Expedia, you’re cool, but I’m probably not the only person going through this, so pick up your game because you’re losing candidates to other companies. — Original post: Expedia//Had a really good phone interview, then they brought me onsite/Chicago. I got really positive responses from the thank you notes I sent in follow-up to each of my interviewers, as well as specifically from the Expedia recruiter reiterating that they thought I’d be a great fit. I felt really good, as it appears did they. And now... It’s been 15 business days since the onsite, and every week I’ve sent an email to the recruiter wishing them well and inquiring if I’ve been selected to move forward in the process. Radio silence. I get that there was Thanksgiving, but like...c’mon. Is this common? Certainly this has not left a great impression and I will think twice if they even extend an offer.
Bad timing with the holidays. I’ve had this happen twice before, one came back with an offer and a sincere apology for the delay (I took that offer) and the other came back with asking for 2 more weeks to which I said I wasn’t interested anymore because I had an offer in hand.
Good point. Thanks!
He/she may be sick, dead, fired. You could try to contact someone else at the company, or even their front desk. Such a thing happened to an acquaintance in Amazon, and I fixed the problem from the inside. Don’t wait to contact them, this is not normal.
They found someone better. Swallow it and move on
And expedia recruiting sucks
Move on, recruiting is a lot like dating. If you call and text after your date, and you don't get a response, she ain't interested
This guy gets it
This guy fucks
Expedia is a shit place to work anyways
Why? Feel free to message me. Super curious.
Brother’s wife worked there for 9 months and hated it so badly she quit and had to repay a very large sign on bonus.
Did you try booking? Amsterdam is cool and they're a better company
That’s a shitty way to treat candidates. If this is the way recruiting is working now expe is completely fucked when they move. They already can’t compete on sal and/or bonus, add this and the whole damn company will be outsourced to jordan.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?

You're a warm candidate. 15 days? Hope you're not as desperate as you come across.
15 Business Days. If he’s waited 3 weeks since the on-site that’s pretty insane to have radio silence.
