Tldr; Booked a hotel with expedia, when showed up at the hotel, the hotel does not have my reservation. 1. Worst experience to go through no room situation 2. What the hell, expedia said this happens but the customer service guys are going in circles but not refunding my money back, since 3 weeks This is plain robbery. Learned my lesson, not to use expedia's websites in future. Folks, how can i get my money back

I have cancelled my reservation once (few thousand $ trip with free cancelation) and it took few weeks and many support calls to refund my money.
There are better options you know 😏
Airbnb is usually where I book for vacations. However, I just had to file a complaint for the first time and HOLY SHIT does their customer service suck. It took 4 weeks of constant nagging to resolve my issue.
So this happened to me, just explain the situation to your credit card company and they will refund you the money and go after Expedia.
Sorry this happened to you. What does customer service ppl say? If it's simple case I don't see a reason for this type of callous behavior.
Some times hotels double book also. Not all suppliers have great booking systems integrated.
That's why user ratings on hotels are important. Pay attention. You get what you pay for.
Happened once - hotel did not have my reservation. Expedia booked another hotel in same area. Extra charges were waived
