Extreme time zone differences inside the team?

Over half of the team is in India and the rest in west coast/east coast. When it’s 9am-5pm in India it’s 11pm-7am est.

No communications on lots of projects. Some people on the team just ghost me because they’re not from the same country. Things get drag on for days. However management wants “collaborations”. I can’t get my work done and it’s very frustrating.

How are we supposed to work together? And are we actually supposed to work together?!!

    You are not supposed to work together, as this is a transitional bump until all the team is offshore.

    1) create a slack channel for quick response on PR/CR or quick approvals , acknowledgements,

    2) if the updates are not frequent or lame or no progress, create a common stand up 8 am est

    3) if everyone is working on different features or services, tackle it independently with weekly syncup

    4) if you have head counts or budget, create a team in London

    5) if you are a leader, try to create autonomous teams, create independent micro services and ask PM to drive collaboration instead of all devs
