E5

FB: 200k base + 637k stock over 4 year + 95k sign on
Lyft: 210k base + 840k stock over 4 year + 62k sign on.

With 1 year vesting plan though (which means Lyft has no confidence in its own stock?)

While for fb with the sign on its 420k per year. Fb has better benefits stuff

No concern with team or anything. Location is seattle

Edit.

I should not include Lyft 50k -80k refresher since fb has refresher too

Edit:

Currently level 6 at amzn with 280k TC

I don't know about Lyft, but Fb wlb is tough. Yes, worse than Amazon. (Been at both)
You get really good refreshers at fb IF you work really hard (long hours and fast). Ratings like Redefine and GE can give you really high refreshers, but you will need to spend all your time on work, so if you don't have a family and are willing to do that, take it.

  • FB has like 155k refresher for E5, so pay after 2 years is similar.

I would choose the company you think you’ll learn/contribute the most at.

WLB is much better at Lyft AND you get paid MORE (according to your offer). Facebook has 60,000 employees and Lyft has 5,000...so if you wanna have a bigger impact, it's likely to be at Lyft. Not to mention that Lyft has a strong engineering culture (as does Facebook).

Do you consider Facebook to be more "prestigious" than Lyft? And if so, does that factor in to your decision making? No shame if it does, just good to acknowledge if that's a reason.

You'll make more at Lyft, have a better WLB, and more opportunity for impact. Either way, congrats on the offers.
