Are there any examples of big companies (not just FAANG) preferring Python or higher-level languages over Go/Java for increased productivity? I know that PayPal switched from Java to Node a few years back and achieved some large gains in productivity. Youtube and Insta are still on Python. Can anyone point out examples where a company preferred the HLL over Java/Go/C++ etc? Thanks Blind fam π
Yes, particularly in (although not limited to) frontend stacks where realtime performance is usually non-critical. Don't expect to build Spanner internals with Javascript or Ruby though.
Oh yeah, for sure. Iβm mostly talking about web services and server apps, nothing too bare-metal.
To your specific inquiry, Python is among the top 3 languages at Google, and it's still actively growing in usage. If this is an important point for your preference, make sure to ask during team match calls; or else they might slot you in to pick up some C++ work.
? Java is just as high level as python.
How old are you kid? There are so many misinformation in this post that it makes me sad about you guys.
There is*, and I donβt want to spend time educating you on GIL vs JIT so unless you have an answer to the question, π€·ββοΈ
Your grammar sense is good. Technical knowledge is limited. And I donβt wanna spend time educating you either. You will figure it out eventually
Is Paypal using some kind of type check for node? Where can I find the article supporting your statement
