Have a question. While on a "Microsoft" System-Design Interview, if I need to use a STORAGE or a RELATIONAL DATABASE. Should I say MySQL or MS-SQL? Should I use AWS-S3 or Azure Blob Storage?

If your reviewer cares then it’s probably a bad sign. I would say “Sql database” and “blob storage like s3” in the moment (generic terms that explain the architecture). Of course if there are specific features of an implementation that you want to use then by all means give specific examples.

Why not just say “a relational db such as mssql or mysql or postgres” or a blob store like “s3 or azure blob”. Shows your utility. But I’m sure it doesn’t matter.
