Recently interviewed at Facebook and Google and I can't get over how unprofessional the interviews were. Google recruiter called me a day in advance of the scheduled call. Then the Hangout interview was incredibly awkward and the interviewer barely made eye contact with me. Don't get me started on Facebook, at the onsite, the interviewers had no enthusiasm for their jobs whatsoever and could barely speak coherent thoughts when asked questions. Second, in back-to-back interviews, I was asked the same exact questions in a robotic manner. Has anyone else experienced this? Finally, both companies had incredibly easy questions. What's the hype?
Googles a very exclusive company. Can you believe they only employ 90,000 people? Those 90,000 are all society needs to persist beyond a nuclear event. Will you be in the submarine core? Google keeps their most elite coders at sea 6 months of the year. Those engineers bang out the best ad units you’ve ever seen. My friend is doing a tour of duty there and says it’s the most exposure to pythons he’s ever had. Didn’t suck as much as you’d expect. Blew his mind.
Just remember that you can always try again in six months.
Lol
Just remember that interviewing candidates became an unpleasant burden no one really enjoys, but have to do anyway to report in the next performance cycle.
It gets old interviewing so many under qualified and ill prepared candidates.
All eng in my org have been told that they have to interview or be penalized on performance ratings, so you’re getting a lot of people interviewing that don’t want to do it. Could explain the awkwardness.
Same at FB, see my reply above.
Same at Uber. Interviewing fucking sucks
It's just proof that not everyone at Facebook and google are good. Bar is reducing, especially in Google.
I use google products that are free. If I had to pay I wouldn't use them probably. So many Google products have not made it and many are not successful like project fi, Google fiber, Google phone, Google cloud, etc. So not all Google is great. For Facebook things are worse, single and declining product company.
Project Fi and Cloud are both profitable. Increasingly so.
They're not making eye contact because they have to transcribe the interview. In this case, transcribing your failure.
Lol
Google interviewers have almost all been exceptional in my experience. Facebook, meh.
Lots of NPCs at the companies. You might have ran into a few. Sorry about your experience
Incredibly easy questions, so why not celebrate if you have some job offers? I would either feel lucky if I had such easy questions or worried that I missed a key part of the question. What is your TC?
Those where too easy , that OP felt offended answering them. LoL
Maybe lightening has struck you twice
