Hi all, I'm thinking about joining FB. I've read Bootcamp can go up to 6 weeks. Does it ever go beyond that? Is there anything I can do to prepare? Any ideas what I'll learn?
You want to take you time in boot camp to find the best team for you. 8 weeks is pretty common, 10 is ok, you will get the reassures to choose after that.
6 is very less to find a team. I joined in 10 weeks. Most of my friends joined in 8th. You can take as much time as you need. After 12 they ask for an answer
If you are preallocated, is the process faster?
If you're pre allocated then you don't choose a team but you can still choose when to graduate from bootcamp. For example, you can keep on working on bootcamp tasks for different teams in order to broaden your skillset before you start (and maybe get a sneak peak of other teams you might join after working on your first team for a year)
Btw, fb bootcamp is AWESOME. It's like being in college again. Learn stuff without much pressure . Go out with coworkers for social events and meals and have fb pay for it. Enjoy it while it lasts because the expectations go up a ton once you declare you're ready to graduate.

Most ppl gradudate from bootcamp within 2 months.
What do you mean by 'graduate'? I thought it's a time-boxed thing.
You have to find a team you like and it refers to graduation
