I have a question for those working at or have worked at Facebook's Data Scientist, Analytics role. In my research, these positions tend to be a product-driven analyst role (lots of SQL, aiding in product direction, etc.) and much less about the technical side of data science/machine learning. My summary of this role is that it sits somewhere in between a PM and a ML/DS. That said, what opportunities have these roles opened up for you, and how do you plan to leverage this experience to continue growth later in your career? How common is it for the technical folk to switch over to work on ML, or to move more closely towards Product? Product interests me, but I'm personally on a track towards learning more technical stuff on the ML side of things. Wondering if this position (or working at FB at large) would be valuable for me from a growth perspective as I work towards those goals in the next 3-5 years.
