FB E5 SWE to LYFT
I’m a SWE @ FB expecting to get promoted to E5 this half but pretty unsatisfied with my team and FB culture overall. Other teams dont seem super exciting either and hence considering a move. I had an offer from Lyft 2 years ago for L4 with comp: 185k base, 500k equity (@39$ pre ipo), 75k joining bonus. I really liked the place but regret not taking the offer and am contemplating trying again. Few questions: 1. Does FB E5 map to Lyft E5? 2. Any ballpark numbers for Lyft E5? 3. Is there a target bonus and/or equity refresher at lyft? Thanks! expected total comp at facebook after promo this half: 333k yoe: 5yrs
No target bonus, but generally salary is higher than FB to make up for it. I think u were maxing T4 back then, so with more experience, you might be able to swing T5 with 800k in equity and maybe more salary with a counter offer. Refreshers I believe are every year now, but not sure.
Have you consider Uber also? The lyft package seems a E5 offer.
I have not considered Uber. I had an Uber offer back then too, but got a pretty negative vibe from the place. I would definitely interview this time though.
Keep in mind that T5 interview format is different from T4 at Lyft. With 5 YOE, you can definitely Target at T5, no matter whether you are promoted or not.
Oh I wasn’t aware that the interview format changes? Do you know what the T5 interview is like?

FB e5 can get 400k+ too
I’m not sure a newly promoted E5 would make this (would be an outlier imo). Maybe an external hire or a seasoned E5 would.
