FB E6 -> DropBox
I have been a E6@FB four couple of years. Have been in FANG for ~15 years with a fair amount of ML background. (1) level.fyi says DropBox IC5(staff) maps to Facebook E6. How likely is it to get IC6(principal) assuming interviews go extremely well. (2) How are the offers for IC5 and IC6 levels. Thanks. Levels.fyiDropbox eng ICs are generally good esp the people who have been there for 4 yrs+, Dropbox product people are fucking awful and make erratic/bad decisions, do not incorporate engineers into product planning and pikachu face when things don't ship Are you joining Dynamo? I was ex FB, recruited by Ruchi Sanghvi and worked at dbx for close to a decade (left last year). I can compare dropbox at 200 employees>1k employees to FB when it was at 1k employees. Whether or not work is interesting depends on your org/lead. Dm to discuss

Used to be good/comparable to FB, dunno with the new cost cutting measures
There are very very few principals already at dbx. I don't know any that were hired externally. It could happen though, just extremely unlikely.
Most were home grown, think Guido was the only exception Back in the old days we invented the title principal to keep the senior staff engs around
