    Funny, I moved from FB to uber as a manager... any specific reason you’re planning to join FB , and that too as a manager?

      I wonder if any recruiters have caught on to the fact that Uber has yet to announce a retention plan for those passing 4 years :-)

      A few recruiter friends & HMs (from FB & G) have told me that it’s been tough to close ‘OG’ uber employees who have been at uber 3+ years - multiple reasons:
      1. unreal expectations on comp and title ( since their uber options grew a lot over past 3-4 years),
      2. strong demand for those talents in startup ecosystem ( Lyft, Airbnb, Dropbox and many other ‘breakouts’ not yet unicorn),
      3. a general feeling at FB and G that those seeking non-startup experience after 3+years at uber are looking for a ‘comfortable’ role ( as they recover from burnout) until they jump back into a startup in a year,
      4. just using G/FB offer to negotiate a stronger comp at a different company, so not worth going through approvals for a higher comp...

      Fwiw, I’m not saying that I agree with these - just something I’ve heard anecdotally from friends from my previous companies over drinks/weekend get togethers. I’ve been here ~1.5 years, so take my (obviously biased) info with a grain of salt ...

      Lot of describe a scenario situations (resolved a conflict, fired someone etc). Also strategy questions as in how do you hire, grow the team, identify a tech lead manager etc

      Yes culture fit as well. Fb is a social
      Company so they want to make sure you will gel with other team members.

    I think that's fair. But they called me so I guess they can't be too worried. So did those others, but I didn't reply to Lyft. I just can't take them seriously.

      Yup, I didn’t say they’re not considering uber employees , they’re just not going after uber engineers like crazy (my comment was in response to the post around the vesting)
