Hi, What is the TC range for L4 in Google Facebook Apple? Please provide number details... I have 5 years of experience in Bay Area (Juniper Networks) ... What level I should expect at faang ..L4 lower end or mid or L4 upper end??? Any chance of L5 (provided i do fairly well in interviews) Thank you blind members.
Google L4 can go up to $300k or a little more, excluding sign on, for the right candidate with strong interview results and competing offers.
Is it OK to put forward ~330k to 350k (with sign on) .. If the recruiter asks... What's my TC expectation... Before interviewing
Ok so my comment was about SWE ladder. Sorry for the confusion. But yes you can explicitly ask for the max + sign on, but max is exceptional and only exceptional candidates will get it. Everyone wants max possible compensation but obviously that isn’t realistic
Levels.fyi for salary info Google comp is influenced by interview performance. Level is determined conservatively. If you really want L5, you should have a compelling reason (YoE, career successes, current level) to ask the recruiter for an L6 fallback L5 interview set.
What do you mean by L6 fallback L5 interview set?
Google has a “target level” for interviews. If you fail, they may offer you L-1. Most people get an L-1 offer. So target 6 and fall back to 5 (if you think you have the skills). Don’t go this route if you aren’t willing to risk not being hired
Do you have offers from these companies? TC depends on a lot of factors like team, interview performance, background, etc. and if you have competing offers you can negotiate and try for higher tc. So I would suggest interview with them, they all are good companies and sometimes you do not make a choice just on who is offering a higher tc.
This is network engineer, not swe so I don't think they'll give the same offers especially for L4. I would guess target 225-260k, something like 140k base (which should be mid band for L4 network eng), 300k stock.
You’d be lucky to get a 300k RSU grant in NetEng ladder for L4 if you dont currently have any existing unvested stock.. you’d be looking at half that. And they’ll know he doesn’t have any coming from juniper. He’ll have to get counter offers. Base, you’re spot on. For L5 you can really get those numbers MUCH higher if you have competing offers. NetEng is kinda a sweet gig though. You can code if you want to or focus on other things.
Thank you everyone for the info, this is very helpful.
