Hey Blinders, I learned that I did not make it through the first round of the FB PM interview. I was a bit surprised [and bummed :( ] since I thought I did fairly well. Clearly there was an expectation mismatch. The recruiter won’t provide direct feedback, so I was wondering if there is a way I can find out what went well and what didn’t go as well, so that I can do better the next time. Felling a bit down right now not knowing what went wrong :( TC: 250k
If u interview with them again, ur next recruiter will tell you if u ask for it.
My recruiter told me - let's not go there, let's start from scratch.
FB recruiters are hit and miss. Interviews also don’t seem as consistent in terms of difficulty for PM as they are at Google. Craft a thoughtful follow up email and if you don’t get a reply just get over it. Your feedback is now their lowest priority compared to recruiting.
Wow that sucks. They should tell you so you can improve!
I went through same experience recently where recruiter said he cannot provide any feedback. The funnier thing is that I got a mail from Facebook recruitment team about my experience interviewing with them that has following text: "At Facebook, we believe that feedback is a gift. So whether everything was great or things could be better, we'd love to hear from you." Can you be a bigger hypocrite?
Be super nice and maybe phrase it on if they have any tips on what areas you should focus on. If you’re cool with the recruiter, they often will tell you the feedback.
