FB on-site difficulty

I've done 74 LC problems and counting (44 Easy/25 Medium / 5 hard). Reading and watching system design material. Recruiter says only to do as hard as mediums. I have a FB on-site coming up. Aced the phone screen. How screwed am I? I feel I'll probably be okay so long as I'm not given a super specific trick problem. Current TC $185k

Not enough, good luck!

SAP Alo Palto May 11, 2019

Damn. How many for Google would be good enough?

Google lenajava May 11, 2019

I did 170 in different topics, easy and medium

Just do a few of the FB leetcode problems, get enough sleep for the 3-4 days leading up to the interview, practice the soft skills the day before. You'll be alright. It's just a job.

Thanks. Will do my best Most of the problems I've done have been tagged FB with high frequency.

SAP Alo Palto May 11, 2019

Depends. Whats your Yoe and is this SWE role?

Oracle raises.py OP May 11, 2019

5 yoe. SWE.

SAP Alo Palto May 11, 2019

Then yeah do study system design. And thats a good amount of LC you did. But again it depends. Did you do 75 array questions only? Then it’s not enough. As long as you have covered all bases, know some nifty tricks and have memorized some common approaches then it might be good. But again it depends on the day of onsite. If every question you are asked is close to what you studied then you are golden, if not, then hope you can use what you learnt and pray like hell the other candidates did not see those questions during their preparations

Just work through interviewbit.com

Facebook TCYOE May 11, 2019

So you’ll have to keep in mind that you can’t fail any problem (not getting the optimal solution). Questions generally aren’t that difficult, but you need to ace them.

Oracle raises.py OP May 11, 2019

To clarify, you mean having a less-than-optimal solution is considered failing?

Facebook TCYOE May 11, 2019

Depends how sub optimal, but you’ll probably be borderline at best. They may request another interview for more signal.

Google smellypoop May 11, 2019

Expect atleast two 25 year old asian guys (who would be E5 by the way) ask you two straight up LC hards. You are in for a treat

I can't wait!

Exactly what happened to me on phone screen

Op , how was Phone Screen ? LC medium?

Oracle raises.py OP May 20, 2019

I found it easy. Maybe a bit of medium concepts (question was subsequently modified). On-site questions were mediums. Two in each coding session.

OP, did you give your onsite ? how was your system design questions?

Oracle raises.py OP May 20, 2019

Could have gone better. We shall see.

Would you mind to share the topics and it's complexity?

Microsoft blindsta Apr 19, 2020

It's depends on your luck. I generally get asked hard questions only (not sure why), so for me to offset my bad luck I need to actually do a lot of practice.
