Has anyone done this? I imagine it’d be a big shift in culture (less flexible, less PTO/WFH). Has anyone had a great experience working at Apple? Exploring options.
expect to work hard, but you will learn. if u dont want that in your life, i would pass.
Yeah. There’s that YouTuber who did... and promptly got divorced, lost everything and appears to be on the verge of suicide.
Which YouTuber??
PTO is not bad. Gets awesome 3+ years in plus there are a whole bunch of paid shutdowns.
Considering the same, and struggling with this. It’s really hard to top the fb benefits/pay/lifestyle. I usually wfh 2x/week and don’t see that as possible at Apple.
It's possible but you can't bring home secret hardware with you to work on. You can always remote in to your desk. The only procedural hurdle is that your manager has to be cool with it. I know someone who WFH one day a week because he lives in SF

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?

I did the reverse. Generally quality of people in apple is lower and there are lots of old shits there from 10+ years ago with attitude and no technical depth. I assume it would change from team to team and this might be my experience only.
Which org were you in at Apple?
