FB/Google Jobs in Texas
1) How do Google/FB salaries in Texas compare to SF and NY? Eg. What's a typical L5 PM TC in say Austin vs MTV? 2) How easy is it to get a role at these firms in Texas? Could you opt to be in TX even if your team is elsewhere for eg? I'm seeing so few postings in Texas and wondering whether there's a workaround TC: 200K

I don’t know if G has any PMs in Austin. We may have a few snowflakes. We largely just send Ops idiots and HR people down there. But the difference in comp is usually around 30% from the Bay Area.

The answer to question 1 is meaningless if it doesn’t come with the cost of living difference. 25% lower TC is a net gain if the COL difference is 32%.
