Karat interviews at MongoDB/Roblox/Robinhood
In the mood for an new role. Have cliff coming up next year and unsure if I will make E5.
Seeing more and more of these interviews with Karat when applying. Is it me, or should I just decline the process with places that use them?
I strongly feel interviewing is part of SWE’s job description. outsourcing that feels like the company doesn’t trust their own people. Also feels like a terrible candidate experience that company doesn’t want to invest their time in getting to know me and see my skills.
For a startup I can understand you outsource a part. Although there it is probably even more important to get the right people in.
Am I just complaining? Or is this the future that are interviews as a service?
Those who work at companies that outsource the interview process: what is your experience with candidates?

Otherwise I don’t see the point. It’s a waste of time for sourcing recruiters and candidates as those questions are going to create a large number of false negatives.
Before my tenure at DISCA, I was at Amazon and failed a couple of online quizzes only to get a phone screen the following week with a different team and pass to the on-site stage. Which I also passed.
The first two teams at Amazon basically missed out on hiring me and ended up wasting time for those recruiters.
