SWE in Site Reliabiity Engineering

Mar 6, 2020 4 Comments

I have a verbal offer to join Intuit as a Software Engineer in Site Reliability Engineering.

I came across posts from Intuit that the company is moving away from SRE.

Please advise if I should consider taking up the job ?

This is untrue. We have an SRE organization and SREs embedded into various teams but not part of a bigger SRE org. A SWE in SRE sounds like you would be building tooling around infrastructure to enable developers to deploy /monitor etc

What team/org is this offer for?
CG has a separate team for SREs whereas SBSEG has SREs within the engineering teams.
SREs are very much in and being hired by Intuit
