This is so interesting that FED just avoided a huge recession with their monetary policy along with support from the government in terms of fiscal policy and stimulus checks. They successfully did it without causing any pain to the investor, economy or people in general.

Shouldn't they be able to do it all the time then? We should all stop worrying about economy and investments. It's all in the safe hands and will keep going up.

Hail Powell!

Can't compare it to Europe and Japan as they are not the reserve currency of the world, so don't get to have the same luxury. US is the world's superpower in every way and still innovates more than any of these countries combined. They will continue to lead the Tech, which will be consumed by the whole world.

lol, China has huge issues with credibility and being an authoritative govt works against them in terms of foreign companies expansion. US hasn't peaked, its still growing at a crazy rate and still leading in technology in all the fronts. These things don't go away overnight or even in a decade. As long as USD is reserve currency, there is zero issues to the US.

Millions were living paycheck to paycheck since the history of USA. Fed printing had nothing to do with it

I think you aren't willing to have a conversation and instead already have a belief. It's sort of useless to discuss, then. Have a great day

The stimulus checks seem to be the thing that helped the most plus unemployment extended benefits. Economy kept going during the pandemic because of these two things. Basically we gave money to the poor this time rather than after the great recession in 2008 where we gave money to the banks. Lesson learned. Give money to the poor not to billionaire bankers if you want to avoid a recession. The poor and the middle class are the ones that buy stuff and keep the economy going.

Because they didn't provide enough support. They should have given $5T in monetary and fiscal support, they only gave $1T

Unemployment was a small amount of the bailout. The trillions given to businesses like Trump's hotels were just to buy votes of the rich.

That’s the bottom line. No more recessions or if at all we have one, it will be only for a brief period. If they do it once, don’t see why can’t do it again. Took a lot of time in 2009-2010.

  • Why should we work at all? Can't we just print money at home.

    • Isn't that exactly whAt is happening? The US has been running on the fed balance sheet since 2008. It is now 8Trillion of virtual debt created out of thin air. All the money via production before 2008 was stolen by the bankers during the crash. The fed has been counterfeiting the original lost money and lending.
