I transitioned from F1 visa to H1B visa on May 8th 2019. My previous company did not withhold FICA taxes for two months in 2019, despite me asking them to do so. How do I rectify this mistake? My tax accountant told me this is not possible to rectify this while filing taxes as the employer pays half of the Social Security and Medicare taxes. How do I pay back the FICA taxes that are due for 2019 ? #visa #taxes

If you transitioned to H1B in May. Are you responsible for FICA taxes for the whole year, or just 8 months?
If they didn’t cut them you don’t have to pay. Eventually HR will tell you that you have to pay for social security and Medicare taxes. Till then enjoy the extra free money.
