I'm done with Facebook. Are you?

Everyone seems to be using Facebook as a soapbox this year. Either for politics, religion, planet death issues, vegan issues... very little value for me anymore.

What about you?

  • I am 32. Believe it or not, I never used Facebook. I remember those days when all my friends (literally all of them) started using Facebook one by one. They made fun of me that one day or the other, I'll be on Facebook too. I had those moments when I was on the verge of creating an account but I am glad I did not. I saved so much time. I feel Facebook is either show off or political/religious/fake issues or relationship broker. I feel it's a sad place.
I feel that I'll be off from blind too. There are so many posts but very few useful and you'll have to go through all the comments to get some information. What a waste of time. I would have never written this long post but I am waiting for someone outside the airport and thought of wasting time here instead.

I'm done. It's going to be the downfall of our society. Post-truth "news" spreads like wildfire. Millions of people are turning away from critical thought and peddling bs without understanding the social consequences.

  • I don't feel comfortable putting my thoughts out on it and so barely ever really used it.

  • Stop turning blind into your soapbox. Oh the irony.

Mainly using FB to share pics with family/relatives that are in completely different continents. (Un?)fortunately, they're all on FB. Grandmas/grandpas/uncles/aunts. I've setup Private groups in FB to keep my posts viewable to only a small set of real friends/family. And FB messenger mostly for direct communication. I barely do the public posts to all 300+ 'friends'.
