I was going through fmla posts and pretty much all of them were from Amazon employees which makes sense due to ura and pip.
If someone at work is going through severe anxiety and having difficulty working apart from vacation, what is best way out? Should they look into leave of absence? Medical leave? Fmla?

Per ADA, a disability accommodation, including a mental health disability (like anxiety or depression), can play a 0.0% role in a termination.
An unpaid leave could be construed as an ADA Leave as Accommodation, as such, a firing because of the leave would likely violate ADA.
At the level of Amazon, FMLA is mostly just a feel good legislation. If you look closer into ADA and corporate policies around STDI and health insurance, there's no articulable benefit of FMLA at Amazon if you're suffering from mental health issues.
FMLA still lets you take a leave to care for family members, but I've heard Amazon policies themselves already allow that as well.
