I have 4 yoe in 2 companies and worked mostly on low level embedded programming (DSP optimizations, kernel dev).

Will start new year at a FANG company and most of my new team's work will revolve around distributed systems and scalability problems and was wondering how easy it is to transition from embedded prog to distributed systems? Do you recommend and books/blogs meanwhile?

None. Luckily I had a pretty strong DS and algos understanding from college, so all I needed was leetcode practice to be able to code solutions fast and accurate. If you don't know the fundamentals of DS and algos, then you should definitely learn them before starting to leetcode.

I had a similar post a while back. The guys there said the transition from kernel to distributed is actually pretty good, since it relies on a lot of OS fundamentals around concurrency, race conditions, deadlocks, etc.
