D.E Shaw compensation

Hi, I am from tier 1 college currently working at D.E Shaw fresher joined this july. However, my counterparts from same college have higher base than me (3-4 lpa more), while I have package same as of someone graduated from VIT. How should I plan to reduce this disparity.
1. Prepare for switch
2. Wait for appraisal

    Off campus recruits are paid less in Deshaw and Arcesium (unless they have competitive offers). This is a well known caveat and peculiar for Deshaw and Arcesium. All other companies in general pay more to external candidates.

    • Honestly that’s competitive. If you know for a fact that you didn’t get the standard pay package that was offered to other hires from your college, just mention that during your year end performance conversations (before appraisal is handed out) and ask them if it has anything to do with interview performance and if yes, has your performance been adequate to address that. Don’t bargain for 3-4L base pay when you can make higher bonus and compound faster during appraisal. After tax it’s like 15K each months that’s all
