My PD is Dec 2014, downgraded to EB-3 in Oct 2020, now EB-3 is stuck with 2012. My PD is current in EB-2 filling dates chart. I have talked to external lawyers and they are saying I am not eligible for interfiling because EB-2 final action dates need to be current.
I believe, there will be retrogression in Oct 2022. Is it a good idea to file another I-485 with EB-2 so that I will be considered in to EB-2 queue as well?

I am more believing that theory because the current administration will bend over back to ensure family quota is used up even if it's at the cost of wasting employment GC (also note in this case FB is mostly consulates and EB is in country approvers). Of course, my guess could be wrong.
Inter filing now based on filing dates has no benefits
