YOE: 2 TC: 100k in MSP.
How does my TC compare to similar YOE in much bigger companies like Nvidia, Apple,, Qualcomm, Intel etc?
Wondering if I am missing out on higher TC and better places to live? (In my mid 20s)

I had an embedded role in a mid-CoL area for my first job and had similar comp at that point. I came to the Bay Area and worked for a large, well-known company (albeit not known for paying well), and while I technically got what seemed like a nice bump in pay, I didn't comprehend just how expensive the Bay Area is until I was already settled in.
Even though I make more now, years later, my purchasing power is still quite limited relatively speaking. I'll never afford a home here. You absolutely have to factor in CoL when considering TC.
Embedded engineering positions can pay very well if you target certain industries or certain companies, but they do tend to pay a bit less than many other software positions.
