Parents visited the US after a loooong time. I am thinking of driving to LA for one weekend. Any suggestions for things to do with Indian parents?

Hi! 12 years LA person here. For parents, Disneyland is not LA so the person that mentioned that it would actually eat up an entire chunk of your trip.

West side better to do for one day then East side of LA / Downtown another

    Westside
    1. Santa Monica Pier - tons of site seeing, ocean, and then you can eat at Del Friscos Grille or Blue Plate Taco when you're done.

    2. Malibu Farm Cafe - gorgeous drive down PCH feels like you're in Hawaii and then when you get to Malibu Cafe you are having a meal right on the water its breath taking.

(Both of these would take up a morning and afternoon)

    3. Head back into the westside on PCH and you can head into Manhattan Beach for a sunset stroll area before dinner. There are some cute shops in Manhattan and then grab dinner at The Strand House

    Next day East Side

    1. Huntington Botanical Gardens is a beautiful way to start the morning day with parents. This is in Pasadena and is an exhibit of some of the most beautiful gardens in the world all put into one place. It will take at least 3 hours to get through so I would start between 9/10am. They have their own cute cafe here so you could even get a nice bite to start with coffee. This is all keeping parents in mind. My parents are originally from another country so I would do this with them as well.

    2. Griffith Observatory is a really nice scenic exhibit to do after Huntington I'd say it would take like 2.5 hours time to get in and out of

    3. if you want to sneak in driving past the Hollywood sign at this point do a check in and see if they want to see it

    4. After Griffith I would try and make your way over to the Staples Center look up if there are any basketball games playing the same weekend and see about grabbing some inexpensive finds online to make your way into Downtown LA.

    5. Before going to the game make reservations for the rooftop at PerchLA. Its super chill, scenic flowers that cover all around the spacing and parents will really feel like they're in LA.

    6. If you got the basketball tickets ready you'll leave Perch and head to the Staples center for the game OR there are a ton of fun things to get into in the Downtown area that you can search for online but this is how I would suggest for not even just parents but anyone to experience LA for a weekend because with driving and distance you have to be realistic about what you can actually do with your bandwidth.

    ✨️Have fun✨️
