Hello,
Just received an offer from a subsidiary of JP Morgan, and was wondering if this would be considered a “mid-tier” company? I ask because I want to make sure I’m making the right decision in taking this offer, rather than waiting for a “better” one. I was told by many people that jumping straight from WITCH to like Google is (obviously) kind of impossible, but maybe it might be easier from this company?
The work looks interesting, it’s mostly Java, Spring, SQL type stuff, and it’s remote which is nice. I currently have 6 months of experience at a WITCH and that’s it, I wasn’t a CS major (nor planned to pursue swe) in college, so I didn’t do any relevant swe internships.
This hurt me a lot in applying to faang, and I ended up only getting a final interview with amazon as a new grad (and failed it). If I were to work for a year at this jpm subsidiary would I have a better chance of getting a phone round when applying to faang and equivalent with (6 months + 1 year = 1.5 YOE)?
Also working on beefing up my resume with better projects. I’ve done over 500 LC so I’d just like to be given a chance to interview next year. Thanks!
YOE: 6 months
Old TC: 62k
New TC: 110k
