#tech Thoughts, blind? Also, good time to join Facebook Reality Labs (currently an embedded eng at Google)? 😆 https://www.theverge.com/22588022/mark-zuckerberg-facebook-ceo-metaverse-interview?scrolla=5eb6d68b7fedc32c19ef33b4
That picture looks like Kang and multiverse from loki episode
Can confirm Mark is going all in on FRL. If you’re passionate about the space it’s growing and the problems have not been solved at scale before. It’s a great place for ambitious engineers prioritizing that over stability or certainty or impacting hundreds of millions to billions of people in the short term but still has some cushion of a large company and healthy business behind it so you don’t need to worry about your startup running out of money next week.
What makes you so sure millions of people will buy AR/VR glasses?
It'll be easy for them. Mark 🤖 already inhabits a digital metaverse.
Wouldn't make any life decisions based on a verge article (or any article tbh) but yes frl is awesome.
How’s the wlb in FRL?
Wlb is always a person choice. No one will ask you to work more than 40 hours but many people do for one of several bad reasons. Simply don't and enjoy great wlb and better performance.
It's a great move by FB, Surprised they aren't acquiring talent. A buy out of Linden Lab would show them jump fully in.
Many acquisitions have been done by FRL the last few years
Does anyone know how to break into this kind of work?
All a bunch of fancy BS terminology for basically: they’re going to have the same backend for all their apps.
