Visited FB's hacker-themed Disneyland. A bit surreal but I suppose after the initial shock it's eventually just a workplace. Albeit ones with ridiculous perks. I found it sad that their onsite print shop had to make a poster that says ~CONTRACTORS~ (struck-through) and below that, PEOPLE. What kind of entitled assholery prompted somebody to request a poster to remind people not to treat the *numerous* service folks (security, food servers, reception, etc) as subhuman? Sushi too hot? Too cold? Handmade ice cream had an ice chip in it? Who knows if I'll even pass the first tech screen, but it's hard to ignore the inequity, esp when you read recent stories about custodians, food service and even college lecturers having to live out of cars or RVs.
Jealous?!
Contractors are treated fine in Facebook outside of legally required limitations (no company events, zuck q&b, offsites). All drama is pretty much self inflicted - people take slight of smallest things. As always most conversation is driven by 1% of loudest one.
This. Anyone has the ability to make and put up the sign. Doesn’t mean it came from leadership.
I am Negan
If you don't like it then don't work there. Pretty simple.
The anti contractor vibe there is real. So is the entitlement. "Can we not put mango in the salad bar? I'm allergic..."

Why are Americans obsessed with SUV?
I didn't make the "Contractors are People too" (paraphrase) poster. FB did. Honestly looking for thoughts on what it's like at FB for real. Didn't mean to get preachy at the end...
There's a ton of SJW influence there.
