Is meta really worth the wait?
Sup guys, I had my virtual onsite on Friday and got an email today (Monday) from the recruiter saying they’ll be discussing my feedback in depth with the Engineering Managers tomorrow and also discuss “next steps”...and let me know about the outcome. Does that mean I probably got some “hire” from interviewers and I have a real chance? Thanks!
Which role/position?
Software Engineer - iOS
I had my virtual onsite on Friday as well. I was told my feedback would be received by Tuesday this week and a decision be made Thursday. If you've heard that today, I'm guessing its edging towards good news. All the best and let us know how it goes.
It sounds like it right? hope I’m not getting my hopes up too much, but I guess we’ll see. Will update the thread for sure. Thank you and good luck to you as well brother!
Thank you.
Which position? E4 / E5 ?
E5
It doesn't necessarily mean that. It probably does, but your recruiter might just be bullshitting you because they tell that to literally every candidate so nobody thinks they bombed. For example there is one recruiter I work with who tells all her candidates she will update them on Wednesday (the day all her candidates are eligible for debrief) even if it's known before then that they won't get an offer.
That makes sense. Though it’d be kinda dumb from him to tell me “discuss next steps” if my feedback was just negative or strong “no hire”, I suppose. In this case, if I were him, I wouldn’t have answered the candidate until the official “no hire” decision. But we’ll see. There are so many LC grinders here and people that dedicate so much of their time to this, that just having a chance for me is great. Thanks for your response!
That is the standard language used in their mails. FB interviewers and recruiters are trained to give positive messaging till the end. Unless you rocked every interview, I would wait until they confirm. Good luck
Commenting for update
It means they are going to discuss and have not decided yet. Can't infer anything about the outcome at this point. Well at least your performance was not so bad as to warrant an automatic rejection, which does happen sometimes
Update: rejected. Lol Coming to the conclusion that these companies don’t want Engineers, they want robots.. So much time invested and a good interview for you to hear nothing about why they made that decision.. anyway, thanks for all the comments guys!
How did your interview go?
Sorry to hear the news OP :(
Yep - means there was enough good feedback to warrant involving a larger group of senior people. Good luck!
Oh man that’s awesome! It’d be a dream come true, prepared for the worst, hoping for the best. Appreciate your response, thank you!
