Product design engineer, MPK yoe: 8.5 Base: $215K RSU: $500K over 4 years no sign on bonus performance bonus 20% Is it good offer for HW role? levels.fyi has limited data for HW focused role. Edit: final offer Base: $220K RSU: $575K over 4 years sign on: $50K performance bonus: 20%
What does a product design engineer do? Is it FB's version of UX Engineer? I'm currently a UX Engineer and am curious about interview process for this role. Thanks.
Designing portal and other upcoming HW products.
I think that’s pretty darn good, considering HW RSUs are (few data points and empirically) half that for SWE in FB. Thus equivalent to a 1M offer for SWE. Source me: IC4 offer last year 160/160/30 after competing offer and negotiation, equivalent to 160/320/30 for SWE. Have seen others in same boat too. Put your offer in Levels.fyi hardware to get closer to the 50 needed for visibility!
What's the bonus target percent?
IC6 with 8 yoe is not bad! You moved up quite fast in the ladder.
Yeah, seriously. That's more important than if this is a good E6 offer or not. The only L6s I've worked with in hardware roles have ~20 YOE. Nice job climbing that fast
What determines if you get a sign on bonus?
500K per year or over 4 years? If the former, extremely good. If the latter, extremely bad. EDIT: nvm, thought this was SW for some reason...
Edited. It’s over 4 years. What’s expected for IC6 in HW? I know SWE gets pretty hefty RSU.
my bad dude, i thought this was SW for some reason. good luck and may you be blessed with good tc !
