Facebook Internal Transfer (Europe to Seattle)
Wondering if anyone has transfered internally from FB (London, Dublin) to Seattle? How does the process look like, is it common? I know that for Amazon and Microsoft this is very common. I’m not currently employed by FB, but may apply if this is possible after 1 year of work. Applying directly would risk H1B lottery. Note- I’m European, non-EU country Want to explore Seattle, seems like a nice place TC: 85k EUR #l1b #l1 #h1b

I know it’s not your question, but FWIW, London is a much nicer place than Seattle.

kostenko OP Feb 11, 2020Never been to Seattle, but considering it because of career opportunities. Also as I hear it’s not like SV, which isn’t family friendly. It’s a city not a village, so also my wife could find a job in her field.

Did you transfer?
Can't speak to FB process, but from my experience helping other EU to USA transfers, your skills will need to be proven as special, with references and strong examples of your contributions. Doubt you'd get through into US with only 1 year at FB, need at least 2 years unless you are an executive/senior mgmt
I don’t mind spending 2 yrs in London. It’s quite an amazing place, especially at FB.
