Hi all,
I’m negotiating my offer with Facebook right now but will likely accept it. I had a few questions for any future colleagues willing to help!
1. Start date - ideally I’d like to take a month or two off, or even start in January. Will my team reneg the offer/is there risk they lose the approved headcount if I wait 3 months or is that only an Uber thing? Is there anything else I should take into consideration like at Uber, if you start after October, you’ll miss the bonus cutoff?
2. Commute - can I find the shuttle schedule anywhere? I live in SF and will be commuting to MPK when the office reopens.
3. Negotiating - any tips on negotiating? I have a competing offer from Google which they knew and said they already took into consideration. They’re also beating my Uber comp so I don’t know what to say. I want to negotiate because I didn’t at Uber (because the recruiter told me I was at top of band already, later learned that was BS) and regret it, won’t make that mistake again.
4. Anything else I should be thinking about to prepare?
FB offer - $500k + equity refresh, which was not explicitly stated
Thank you!

They won’t tell you exact location of the shuttle but the recruiter can tell you how far away the closest stop is from your house.
General negotiating tip is to have another offer. I didn’t and the way I got around it was to tell the guy I still had interviews lined up, make me an offer that will get me off the market to get a little more.
Preparation: get some sleep and stay away from the computer screen for awhile. You’ll be working your ass off.
Expectations are very high but it is fun working with a lot of really smart folks.
I work 40-60 in general.
1. Joining after 2-3 months should not be a problem at FB but work that out with recruiter.
2. No idea about sf to mpk commute
3. Is it product manager E6 role or EM role. What is the offer breakdown. As per the blind posts, this is top of the band for product manager E6
