Hey folks, first-time poster here. I have a Product Designer interview at Facebook in the next week or so (for Enterprise Engineering it seems). A Past Work and App Critique via video conference Anyone willing to offer any interview tips, how i should prepare my presentations or what not? I'd appreciate any help. #facebook #facebookinterview #facebookinterviewquestions
Don’t listen to Amazon. Fb is a great place to build your career. Choose to work on a problem you’re passionate about when you join. Lots of complex problems to solve.
Lots of good tips you can find online. Only thing I’d highlight is to be very aware of time for the past work chat. 45 min is not a lot of time. Leave at least 10-15 min for intros and questions.

As an Indian what would you choose as a career ?
Here’s a tip, cancel your interviews and pursue employment elsewhere. IMO and I’ve posted on this before, FB is a poor choice for building a career. Internal culture is directionless and toxic, leadership is tone deaf and company is deeply unethical. FB has a well deserved reputation for unethical behavior that tarnishes everyone who works there. Users personal data is leaked and shared widely, CEO sets the tone calling users who share data “dumb f*cks”. https://adage.com/article/opinion/zuckerberg-dumb-fucks-opening-window-new-ad-models-privacy/312832 Data leaks of over 500M users personal data. One example: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/millions-facebook-user-records-exposed-amazon-cloud-server/ FB prioritizing paid political ads that are flat out lies as they drive engagement. Zuck doesn’t care if it undermines democracy worldwide. Twitter, MS, LinkedIn and mostly Google doesn’t run paid lies. https://dnyuz.com/2019/11/04/facebook-isnt-just-allowing-lies-its-prioritizing-them/ FB drives social isolation, depression and anxiety. The core product is like nicotine, addictive and not good for your health. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2017/03/06/518362255/feeling-lonely-too-much-time-on-social-media-may-be-why Bottom line, there are so many great places to work that aren’t soul sucking and unethical. Avoid.
Says the person at Amazon. Worst place ever. Design is WAY better at Facebook. Amazon doesn’t give a shit about design as a whole, some teams do but the entire company couldn’t care less. They treat Employees like shit with their PIPs based on layoffs, lies about refreshers, no free lunches. FB is a way better place to go.
