Hey folks, I had an onsite in Menlo Park for a Facebook product designer role one week ago, which i thought went reasonably well. Hadn’t heard anything since, but just yesterday, my recruiter reached out asking for my portfolio presentation I’d presented at the onsite. Any idea what could be happening? Any indication of an offer vs not?
Likely you are a borderline case. Weak hire/weak reject
Hey, can you share your Facebook whiteboard challenge please? I need practice
Update: looks like I’ll move along to chat with a hiring manager of one of the teams I’d interviewed for. Is this considered part of the interview? Sounded like more team fit
In my experience this is a team fit. But if you really want to know just ask your recruiter you’re working with
Found out today it was for team fit indeed, and I had a video call with one of the hiring managers -- but it didn't work out. Recruiter told me I got a "hire" decision and that that decision is valid for a year, but they're stuck on team fit.
What level offer and what’s your skill set? My team needs a senior designer and have been struggling to find people with the right skill set for the role
What skills do you seek for that senior role?
Ideally someone who’s both a good systems thinker and strong prototyper
Op, did you get an offer? :)
Recruiter told me to hang on and that Q1 would be a better bet!
Can you share your whiteboard challenge please? I need practice
I assume either they’re on the fence and want to run your portfolio by some colleagues, or were impressed and want to review your portfolio again, or share with colleagues. Either way they liked you enough to ask, and didn’t follow up with a no hire message :)
